Albany Modern Body Art is the premier tattoo and piercing studio in the New York capital district region. Though flash jobs are welcome, our artists take pride in their knowledge of artistic and traditional symbolism as well as spiritual aspects of these ancient art forms. Chris Reynolds (born Feb 10 1967) is a Canadian born multimedia artist who has performed hundreds of custom commission works and personal pieces in various mediums including wall art, CD covers, tattooed skin, vehicle paint jobs and more. Chris has been an artist his whole life and is self taught in most forms but notably started tattooing under the late Dwight Dee Bryant in Toronto, Canada circa 1987. He later suffered a tragic motorcycle accident in 1996 and took up stipple art as tapping dots on paper was the least painful way for him to create art while he recovered.Influences such as Boris Vallejo and Frank Frazetta had an impact on Chriss early work. Other influences such as Robert Williams, Salvador Dali, M.C Escher,Hieronymus Bosch, The Beetles and Pink Floyd have all lent a large hand in Chriss development, though at present his artistic skills allow him to use nearly any medium and draft with any style he so chooses.Chris has been featured in many magazines such as Tattoo, Skin and Ink, International Tattoo, Flash, Savage, Taboo, Tattoo Review and various others. He was also featured in the Erotic Art show in L.A. Cal. circa 2003 and The five elements Art Show and the Nothing Left To Lose Art Show in Albany N.Y. circa 2010. Chris has also won many awards at various tattoo conventions.

As the shadows swarm the pit , the night glare punches conformity in the face . Like a circling shark with an uppercut ; tattoo artist Josh Lyons breaks the surface of what is normal .Better known as Death Metal Josh Mosh . He hails from Albany , New York. With a morbid and macabre sense of reality and a love for blood , gore , horror , occult magik , and metal it is to say that he excels in his psycho-delic darkside style . A style of nightmare blasphemous images that are splashed with crazy cartoon colors . Tattoos that shock and disturb the soul are ones he strives for .When I asked the 35 yr. Old metal long-hair just how he had acquired the tag Death Metal Josh Mosh random stories ensued of tattoo world and the stay brutal metal art . One of which he goes on about a black metal band that took stage and how he cut through the pit with fist and feet only to drink from the leaking severed head held over the crowd . He then continues to say mostly it s the memories that are seen in my art.Joshs current projects include a fusion of his psycho-delic darkside style with Celtic and Norse mythology creating subliminal optical illusions where depending on which depth of field your in one tattoo will morph 3-4 times more .By appointment you can get his Hell of a Deal where he charges a 666 dollar full day session for so said tripped out custom work . (at least 8 hrs. worth)Needless to say of course his first job tattooing was at theGates Of Hell a shop in Troy , NY . After 17 years tattooing and multiple spots in shops he now has a feng shui balance and a haven for his heathens at Modern Body Art 13 Howard st. Albany ,NY 12207 (518)426-8282. Working with a crew of inkredible artists and a boss who goes by the name Tragedy his creativity is pushed to the brink daily .A client walks in and as the thirst trickles , and the need to quench his artistic freedom Josh ends with his personal quote: Art means nothing unless you bleed
